Disappointed In President Pohamba

Disappointed In President Pohamba

I HAVE never been more disappointed than when I read your article about what our President Pohamba said, comparing the opposition with ‘Judas’ etc.

I have always had the greatest respect for him. Are we now going the way Zimbabwe and Kenya went? A leader that cannot accept that he has to uphold democracy and allow people want to change from a party, or for that matter from one job to another? It is their democratic right! This is not a fight! Please don’t play dirty! The people who broke away are mostly respected people who have done a lot for our country and especially for the Party. They were, and I am sure, still are, your friends. They had good reason at the time to break away! Saying things like boycotting RDP business and telling people to deny them their basic human right of access to water! It is very, very demeaning! What do you want to achieve? I agree with something that I read in one of our newspapers – Geingob and Hamutenya were like David and Jonathan, now Hamutenya is a Judas! Since the new parties started I have not for one second thought of resigning from Swapo, but after this! I’m not so sure.I am very sad.I looked up to the leaders and respected them. Please don’t allow differences to inflame hatred among the people of Namibia. We don’t want to end up like Kenya is at the moment. We have a wonderful reputation throughout the world. Please, don’t blemish our name.Concerned Swapo Member Via e-mail Note: name and address provided – EdAre we now going the way Zimbabwe and Kenya went?
