Uranium exploration company Deep Yellow has appointed Greg Field as its new chief executive officer (CEO) after the unexpected departure of former CEO John Borshoff.
The former Rio Tinto manager is a mining engineer who will take over the US$750 million Tumas Uranium in Namibia on 1 May, Deep Yellow said yesterday.
Field was previously managing director of Rio Tinto’s project development, based in Canada, and has also worked in South Africa, Australia, Mongolia, the United States and Argentina.
“Greg brings considerable execution skills and extensive experience in delivering multiple large-scale resource projects, which will further complement the existing expertise in the broader Deep Yellow team,” acting executive chairman Chris Salisbury says in a statement.
Deep Yellow’s Tumas project in Namibia is awaiting final approval.
