Dahlia win April Top Eight

Dahlia Football Club won the inaugural Franklin April Top Eight final after beating Aweh Aweh 4-3 on penalties in Saturday’s final.

The two teams were tied at 2-all at the end of full time before the final had to be decided on penalties.

The competition was held in memory of former Civics and Brave Warriors player Franklin April who passed away this year.

Dahlia FC later handed the cup over to April’s grandmother, Ouma Rina April, at the April’s residence in Dahlia Street, Khomasdal, where Dahlia FC was formed this year.

Dahlia also thanked the organisers of the league who changed the name from the Thru Pass Social League to the Franklin April Social League in memory of the late Franklin April.
