The body of a stillborn baby was discovered inside a black plastic bag in a residential yard in Narraville at Walvis Bay on Saturday afternoon.
According to the police crime report, the homeowner made the discovery at around 15h30 while preparing to rake her yard.
“She saw a suspicious black rubbish bag in the corner of the yard. She picked it up and discovered a body of a still born baby.
“It is suspected that an unknown suspect gave birth to a baby, placed the body in the black plastic and dropped the plastic in a yard,” national police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi says.
The baby’s body was taken to the Walvis Bay police mortuary for storage and further handling.
Police investigations continue.
