CRICKET Namibia yesterday announced the squad to take part in the ICC U/19 World Cup Qualifier 2011 in Ireland.
The event is organised by the International Cricket Council and will be held in Ireland from July 27 until August 9. There will be ten participants all competing for the six remaining places in the 2012 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup scheduled to take place in Australia.
Two teams from each of the ICC regions qualified through regional tournaments to participate in the Under-19 World Cup Qualifier.Also in contention for a world cup spot are Kenya, Scotland, Ireland, Nepal, Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, USA and Canada. Marelie Reed will accompany the Namibian team as the official cricket scorekeeper.The full squad is as follows: Andre Engelbrecht, Stephen Baard (Captain), Gerhard Erasmus (V-Captain), Luke Bolton, Johan Rudolph (Coach), Pelham Myburgh, Tangeni Lungameni, Christopher Coombe, Wian van Vuuren, Rangarirai Manyande (Manager), Justin Baard, Jason Davidson, Zhivago Groenewald, Shalako Groenewald, Gerhard Lotter, and Bredell Wessels.
