Conradie excels at University of Johannesburg

NAMIBIAN national rugby player Wian Conradie excelled at the University of Johannesburg’;s recent sports gala evening.

Conradie who plays eighthman or flank for his club and country, had a prolific season, helping the University of Johannesburg (UJ) to finish third in the Varsity Cup, while he also helped Namibia win the Africa Gold Cup and qualify for the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Conradie, who is a final year quantity surveying student at UJ, won the top award of ‘;student-athlete’; which is awarded to the top student for academic and sporting excellence.

He also came second overall in the Sportsman of the Year category.

Conradie also excelled at the awards gala evening of the University of Johannesburg Rugby Club when he once again won several awards.

He won the top Student-Athlete award for a record fourth year in a row, while he also won the FNB UJ rugby clubman of the year award, as well as an award for his dedicated service to FNB UJ rugby.

Conradie was also honoured and recognised for his inclusion in the senior Namibian rugby team.
