Chris Wayne Pushes for International Recognition

Super producer and rapper extraordinaire Chris Wayne has recently gone one up after bagging a producer tag on ‘Linyenga’ by Lioness and Nigerian superstar Falz.

After recently leaving 99FM to focus solely on his production company, MasterMind Production, Wayne describes 2021 as a blessed year.

“Working at 99FM gave me a better understanding of the mainstream corporate world. It really taught me a lot in terms of time management, focus, discipline and dedication. It opened up many doors for me and gave me the opportunity to meet so many other creatives that are as passionate as I am,” he says.

“Last year was a very successful year for me in terms of moving forward and growing. It has been very overwhelming for me and I got to work with Falz, one of Nigeria’s biggest artists. I did a lot last year. As a creative it really pushed me to different heights and gave me a clearer vision of where I’m going.”

The ‘Maspenda’ hitmaker says this year will be no different from last.

“Way more music from me. You are going to see me working with more producers and more international acts. My team and I are planning on taking production to the next level. I think it’s our job as producers to be on point when it comes to sound production and it’s my responsibility too, to be at the helm of music production in Namibia. We are also planning to release a lot of video content in the form of documentaries, vlogs and music videos,” he says.

Wayne praises fans of his music and says he’s doing it for them.

“We honestly do this for the fans and I’d like to appreciate everyone who appreciates our work. There are two ways to make it, either locally or internationally, and we have chosen the harder of the two. It may not happen now, but it will eventually become a reality,” he says.
