Chevron appoints Beatrice Bienvenu as Namibia country manager

Chevron has appointed Beatrice Bienvenu to lead its exploration activities in Namibia and West Africa as country manager.

Bienvenu recently met with the Upstream Petroleum Unit in the Presidency of Namibia, as well as with the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor) and Petroleum Training and Education Fund (Petrofund).

She says her recent visit highlighted some of the factors that make Namibia attractive for investment.

“We see exploration and future development of energy resources as a pathway for prosperity for Namibia. I’m excited to continue our partnership for many years to come,” she says.

Bienvenu was previously employed as Chevron’s manager for Pipeline & Power Control Center in Houston, responsible for overseeing the safe and reliable remote operations of the company’s United States (US) federally regulated pipelines.

She has also served as an adviser for Chevron’s International exploration department supporting exploration strategy, portfolio optimisation, business planning, activity execution tracking, and financial reporting.

She joined Chevron in 2010 and has worked in several roles, including as a seismic specialist, drilling offshore exploration wells, and appraising discovered resources to assess commerciality.

Bienvenu graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s of science in electrical engineering and a minor in management science, and an master’s of science in geophysics.
