RIO DE JANEIRO – Brazil’s top sports tribunal (STDJ) yesterday ordered the cancellation of results from 11 league matches refereed by Edilson Pereira de Carvalho, who is accused of helping to fix results to favour internet gamblers.
Pereira, an international referee, has already been suspended by world governing body FIFA for his part in the affair which has rocked Brazilian football since the story emerged less than 10 days ago.
