The Namibia Football Association wishes to inform Namibians and its football-lovers that the association entered into an agreement with the Russian Football Union to play the Brave Warriors in an international friendly match against the Russia National Football Team on 3 October 2026 in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
Head coach Collin Benjamin is grateful for the opportunity to field the Brave Warriors against a strong Russia national football team, highlighting the value of exposing his players to different footballing environments. “This is the kind of competitive exposure our players need on a regular basis to increase the pressure, the experience and competitiveness to make them ready to face their peers at continental level in the CAF/Africa Cup of Nations,” Benjamin stated.
“For us, it is critical that our players continue challenging themselves to the limit. Playing in different parts of the world, especially against highly rated national teams contributes significantly to their ongoing development, and this gives the technical team an opportunity to assess the endurance, stamina and level of pressure the team can withstand under extreme pressure,” he said.
“The Brave Warriors are looking forward to the international friendly against the Russian national football team and the more friendlies we can secure can only take the Braves from greater to even greater heights,” coach Benjamin concludes.
