Big Brother Africa 5: Bringing SEXY Back!

Big Brother Africa 5: Bringing SEXY Back!

Just back from chilly Johannesburg, where I attended the exciting Big Brother Africa All Stars launch, I have not had access to my trusty TV and DStv Channel 198, so I must admit that I have missed out on some of the initial action – as it went down in the house.

Be that as it may I have to say that Meryl looked like the African version of Marilyn Monroe or Betty Boo or (a skinny) Anna Nicole Smith. Yeah our girl was bringing SEXY back!Hard to believe she’s just had a baby. With that skintight blue-grey and red number that hugged her curves in all the right places, she looked hot, hot, hot!I loved, loved, loved the hair, the make-up, that dress, her red shoes! All I can say is I want her stylist’s number – immediately!I think it is fair to say that motherhood hasn’t mellowed her characteristic sex-kitten any. The dramatic, outrageous and so over-the-top Meryl is still playing it up for the camera’s and grabbing all the guys attention. Back at the house, from what I can gather, the first night went down a bomb! With everyone waking up with throbbing hangovers … Which certainly didn’t make the nomination process any easier. Yep, that’s right – just one day into the show and the housemates had to nominate who they would like to see up for eviction. Many of the them struggled to come up with someone, with Tanzanian Mwisho eventually refusing to nominate anyone at all. Automatically putting him up – as per the rules of the show. This time around though, it didn’t hurt him any as Big Brother, or Big Sister or whatever you want to call her, has decided to put each and every one of the 14 African housemates up for eviction, leaving the decision in your hands. Yes Namibia, its time to vote for your favourite to stay in the house. I repeat: YOU VOTE TO KEEP YOUR FAVOURITE HOUSEMATE IN THE HOUSE! The housemate who receives the least number of votes will be evicted.Voting can be done in four different ways so you really have no excuse for not voting and if you don’t vote, you have no reason to bitch if your favourite gets voted out. Voting begins immediately after the Nomination show has been broadcast on M Net Africa, Channel 102 at 19h30 every Monday and closes at 05h00 the following Sunday morning. So, just to refresh your memory – here are the ways in which you can vote:By sending an SMS Namibians can vote on all three networks – MTC, Leo and Telecom’s Switch by sending an SMS with the word VOTE followed by the housemates name, ie: VOTE MERYL to the number 15626.SMS’s are charged at N$3 each. You can vote 100 times by SMS per mobile number during each voting period.Via the WebsiteRegister on www.bigbrotherafrica.dstv.com/. Ensure that you specify your country in the PROFILE section. If you do not – your vote will not be allocated to Namibia’s country vote, instead it will go to the Rest Of Africa vote. Go to the VOTE section and cast your vote by clicking on the Housemate who you would like to see stay in the house. You can vote once per hour per registered email address.Via MxitOpen the browser on your WAP-enabled mobile phone, and type in www.mxit.com/wap to download MXit for free. Vote on the website or wapsite for free, once per hour during the voting period.Patriotic Mosaic vs Hollywood CelebsAs will be the norm from now on, the housemates received their weekly task instructions yesterday (Tuesday) morning. They will have the whole of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to work on their task before the weekly task presentation takes place on Thursday evening. To kick off this season’s tasks the housemates wagered a confident 100 per cent on the Patriotic Mosaic and Hollywood Celeb Interview tasks. Each of the housemates will have to show off their creative flair, national pride and artistic skills by making mosaics of their country’s flags. They also have to plan and prepare a two-minute speech about their homeland. Running simultaneously, housemates will also have to dress up like Hollywood stars and interview one another on all things glamorous, scandalous and oh-so fabulous! There you have it folks. Remember to e-mail your opinions and thoughts on the show to bba@namibian.com.naAlso, watch the daily shows on M Net Africa, Channel 102 at 18h30 daily and see all the live action go down on Channel 198.
