BhuQaid’s passport to happiness

• Pinehas NakazikoTHE Ongwediva-based musician BhuQaid Shevanna continues to make his mark in the industry, and has now added the album ‘Passengers and Passports’ to his name.

The musician released ‘Subconscious’ in 2017, which had him reaping the fruits of his hard work through hit songs like ‘Lambela’ and ‘Kumbaya’. The album scored him around N$10 000 in royalties, he says.

BhuQaid has obtained a bachelor’s degree in logistics and supply-chain management from the Namibia University of Science and Technology.

This year the singer returned with a 17-track album advising people to live in the present moment, and to get a ticket to a life of abundance.

“In other words, when you live beyond mindfulness, you direct the energy in your chakras, thus you will defeat body aches, and fits of anger and frustration, which I referred to as a passport to a happy, new, joyful life,” BhuQaid says about his new album’s title.

The album features ‘Number One Fan’, which is about gratitude, sharing love, education and reinforcement.

‘Baby Tununu’, featuring Brave OB, is an old-school township kwaito jam about a young celeb known as Baby Tununu.

BhuQaid says the song is his way of paying tribute to Baby Tununu.

Currently, the album has two music videos for ‘Oboma’ and ‘Yabollova’, shot by Basement Films at Ongwediva, and edited by Sodo.

‘Passengers and Passports’ was produced by Bexxa Carter, VDKay Crazy Boy, Momento, MJ Nande, K-Ketu and Desh Wakit.

This latest project is available in hard copy as well as on online music platforms, including YouTube.
