HAVING already signed Namibian international striker Wilko Risser, South African Premiership side Chippa United are reportedly courting his compatriot Rudolf Bester when the transfer window re-opens in January.

KickOff.com confirmed on Friday that Risser has signed for six months, with an option for two more years depending on whether Chippa United retain their top-flight status come the end of the season. And now the club is said to want to bolster its attack with the acquisition of Bester – with Chippa United boss Chippa Mpengesi said to be a huge admirer.Bester, who only recently returned to training following an injury layoff, signed from Maritzburg United a two years ago, but has struggled for regular first team football at the Buccaneers.’Mr Mpengesi is a fan of Rudolf Bester. The club has already enquired about his services from Orlando Pirates,’ our source reveals.Goals have been hard to come by for the Premiership rookies – with 11 goals in 13 League matches, and Risser, who played most of his career in Germany, is expected to improve the strike force. The 30-year-old arrived in the country three weeks ago and attended a trial at Bloemfontein Celtic, but soon he was on his way to Cape Town to join forces with Chippa United, where he impressed the technical staff.Chippa United are currently in 14th position on the PSL log. – kickoff.com
