Bannerman Energy says its Etango project has operated for 1.1 million hours without serious injuries, as bulk earthworks on the project reach 92% completion.
The Etango project is a uranium project in the Erongo region. Australian-listed Bannerman expects to make a final investment decision on the project later in 2026.
“During May 2026, the Bannerman Mining Resources Namibia team and its contract partners achieved the significant milestone of one million LTI-free hours on the Etango project.
This achievement extends Bannerman’s unbroken 17-year LTI-free record,” Bannerman announced to investors on Monday.
LTI stands for lost time injury. It is a safety metric that measures work-related injuries that are severe enough to require employees to take time off. Etango currently employs 560 people.
Etango’s 24-month bulk earthworks construction is almost complete and the company says its remaining construction is also on schedule.
“This progress is a source of great pride within both the Bannerman owner’s team and among our broader contract workforce,” chief executive Gavin Chamberlain said.
