NORMAL traffic flow on the B3 road between Karasburg and Ariamsvlei on the South African border resumed on Friday after the construction of a detour was completed.
This was announced by Roads Authority spokesman Audrin Mathe on Friday. Traffic on the road was disrupted a week ago after wash-aways due to heavy rain in the area caused extensive damage. Repairing the B3 road will cost an estimated N$15 million and take up to three months.President Hifikepunye Pohamba on Friday visited the area to assess the road damage stretching over 13.5 kilometres.
