Almost End of Road for Chelsi Shikongo

As she prepares to hand over the crown to the next Miss Namibia this year, Chelsi Shikongo has exclusively shred with unWrap.online her achievements and the challenges she encountered during her tenure as Miss Namibia 2021.

Among the challenges, Shikongo said she could hardly find time to pursue her journey in acting and comedy as she gave all her attention to Miss Namibia, which is her full-time job.

“My journey is so far so good and challenging at times with a full-time job and trying to give everything my attention while I’m still Miss Namibia. However, there are some things and projects I still need to complete before the end of my reign.

“I have the Orlindi orphanage in Windhoek that I spoke of that still needs a playground and also the school for children with autism in Ongwediva who need all the help they can get with a playground as well and specific toys and facilities for children with autism. Those are some of the projects that still need help from the Namibian people,” she stated.

Shikongo also told unWrap.online she is not sure whether she would continue modelling after the end of her reign as she has taken another career path.

“After my tenure as Miss Namibia, I am not going back to be a model anytime soon, as I have taken a new career journey for now. And what’s next for me currently as Miss Namibia, everything is still in the pipeline, so stay tuned,” she said.

When asked about her love life, Shikongo said she has a partner.

She added: “I am very thankful for the love and support I continuously received from everyone. It was an amazing opportunity. I was so grateful to attend and represent my country with pride and honour at Miss Universe. Thank you so much, Namibia.”
