A world-class store

A world-class store

Pick ‘n Pay’s revamped Swakopmund store was described as a ‘world-class shop’ by the Pick ‘n Pay Group’s CEO, Nick Badminton during the store’s ‘new look’ launch last Thursday.

‘I’ve been around the world and opened many stores in southern Africa. This shop is one of the best; it stands in the top of the draw,’ he said during a smart-casual launch ceremony. The store in Swakopmund, which also celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, forms part of the Olthaver and List Group of Companies (O&L).Executive Chairman of O&L, Sven Thieme, said the event was yet another success story of his group’s ‘Growth through Change 2001′ strategy.’Through this success factor we aim to delight and excite our customers and consumers through supreme relationships characterised by customer orientation and proximity to our consumers’ markets. This demands the institutionalisation of customer feedback mechanisms, and running of customer surveys to measure our success,’ said Thieme.Henry Feris, Managing Director of Pick ‘n Pay Namibia said the revamped store was ‘most certainly now a flagship shop’ with an even greater range of products and new departments such as wine, clothing and a German delicatessen.Besides more space, better lighting and better placement of products, Pick ‘n Pay Swakopmund is also the second store to feature an in-house coffee shop.’We know that it will become a hit amongst the locals, tourists and inlanders who flock to this beautiful town on a regular basis,’ he said.
