A Blessed and Memorable Encounter at Gondwana’s Etosha King Nehale

Grace and blessings go to the fortunate ones who were given the opportunity to spend time with some of the revered senior citizens of our nation – wisdom keepers whose lives are rich with history and powerful storytelling.

The Etosha King Nehale team was honoured to welcome meekulu Pashukeni Shoombe, meekulu Kakwali Haimbodi, meekulu Ndina Hamutumwa, meekulu Josephine Udjombala, meekulu Ndapwa Nghifikwa, tatekulu Apollos Kaulinge, and tatekulu Lesheni Nghifikwa, all from the northern part of Namibia, mainly from Ongwediva and its surrounding areas.

Our elders spent two meaningful nights with us, blessing the lodge with their presence and generously sharing their rich life stories, wisdom, and cultural values.

Their visit was a true reminder of the importance of preserving and honouring our heritage.

During their stay, we had the privilege of taking them on a visit to Etosha National Park, which was an unforgettable experience, and for some, their first-ever time to witness this iconic Namibian treasure.

The joy, wonder, and appreciation expressed during the game drive will remain etched in our hearts forever.

The group extends sincere appreciation to Gondwana Collection Namibia for having a diverse team at the lodge and for establishing such a remarkable destination in the north – Etosha King Nehale (Mokashana Kuukongo wa Nehale) – which continues to connect people, culture, and nature.

Our guests were deeply impressed by the warm hospitality and outstanding service delivery led by lodge manager Eddy Shipulwa, together with his energetic, dedicated team.

Their professionalism and genuine care made this visit truly special and memorable.

As a closing message, our elders encouraged young Namibians to respect, protect, and promote our culture, reminding us that our identity and strength are rooted in where we come from.

This experience will forever remain a cherished memory for both our guests and the Etosha King Nehale team.
