Swapo and Nandi-Ndaitwah lead Kavango East election results; Itula and IPC in second place
Swapo presidential candidate Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and her party swept to a large majority of votes in the Kavango East region’s presidential and National Assembly elections on 27 November.
This is according to preliminary results reported at polling stations and collation centres in the region’s constituencies.

Only four cast votes at Okatyali, Black Friday blamed
The presiding officer for the Okasheshete polling station at Okatyali in the Oshana region, Saara Ruben, says only four voters participated in the extended election exercise since the polling station opened on Friday.
Ruben said this on Saturday, adding she suspected it was due to Black Friday.
Opposition parties threaten to take action against ECN
Opposition parties gave the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) until yesterday afternoon to address their concerns on the voting process, or they would take action.
The opposition parties wanted an explanation for why the presidential and National Assembly elections on Wednesday were marred by ballot shortages and glitches with the verification machines.
AR wants ECN to explain irregularities
The Affirmative Repositioning (AR) movement has filed a formal complaint with the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) citing ballot paper shortages, mobile teams failing to set up shop and turning voters away illegally.
This, AR labelled, as irregularities.
Unfair to exclude some regions from extended election – Zambezi opposition leaders
Some opposition leaders in the Zambezi region say the Electoral Commission of Namibia’s decision to extend the elections in a few regions is unfair to those in excluded regions.
The ECN on Thursday announced that the election would be extended for two days.
