ELEVEN people died after the two vehicles they were travelling in collided and caught fire on Friday.
Kavango West police crime investigations coordinator, deputy commissioner Abner Agas, said the incident happened last night a few kilometres from Nkurenkuru towards Mpungu.
Ten people were initially reported to have died in the car crash, but Agas said the latest information indicates that there was another victim – a child – bringing the total number of deaths to 11.
“The people burnt beyond recognition … We have sent our team to the morgue for the correct verification of the bodies,” Agas said.
He said the cars involved in the accident are a Nissan Tida and seven-seater vehicle.
