The Namibia Sport Commission has announced that phase two of the National Youth Games trials has been cancelled.
In a press release issued today NSC chief administrator Freddy Mwiya said that the trials which were scheduled to take place from 14 to 17 May have been cancelled ‘due to unforseen circumstances.’
The affected sporting codes are football, boxing and netball.
“The commission sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused to the athletes, coaches, officials, parents, and all stakeholders who have been preparing for these trials. We understand the importance of these trials in identifying and nurturing young sporting talent and the decision to cancel was not taken lightly,” Mwiya said.
