Youth energy forum gets new boss

Fanuel Shinedima

The Namibia Youth Energy Forum (NYEF) has appointed Fanuel Shinedima as its new chief executive.

Shinedima, who previously served as a director of the forum, returns to lead the organisation as it approaches its third anniversary, following a period of significant institutional growth, strategic expansion, and increased national visibility.

Since joining the forum’s leadership, Shinedima has played a pivotal role in shaping the organisation into one of Namibia’s leading youth-led platforms dedicated to advancing youth participation, skills development, local content, entrepreneurship, and stakeholder engagement within the country’s evolving energy sector.

He has been instrumental in strengthening stakeholder relations, leading strategic partnerships, overseeing operations, driving programme development, and enhancing the forum’s organisational governance and administration.

“I am deeply honoured by the confidence placed in me to lead the Namibia Youth Energy Forum into its next chapter. Over the past few years, we have laid a strong foundation, built meaningful partnerships, and demonstrated what is possible when young people are given a platform to lead.

“As Namibia’s energy sector continues to evolve, the NYEF has an even greater responsibility to ensure that young people, local businesses, and communities are not left behind,” Shinedima says.
