Young woman found dead at Outjo

The naked body of a woman (21) was discovered behind the Sophia Shaningwa Fire Station near the municipal houses at Outjo in the Kunene region on Saturday.

Kunene police deputy commissioner Florence Kuzatjike on Sunday said the deceased was identified as Florencia Jacobs, a resident of Kamanjab, who was reportedly visiting relatives at Outjo.

Kuzatjike said it is suspected that the victim was struck multiple times with a stone as indicated by wounds on her head and face, and her clothes were found scattered around the scene.

“According to her relatives, Jacobs left home on Friday morning carrying her cellphone, which has not been recovered,” the police officer said.

No suspect has been identified and no arrests have been made yet. Police investigations continue.
