Africa Women Farmers Allies (AWFA) Namibia, in partnership with Desh Bhagat University, has called for Namibian women farmers to apply for a capacity-building programme in India.
According to AWFA’s press statement, the programme is set to start in February next year, with the first group of trainees.
AWFA-Namibia is aimed at ensuring food security in the country through the empowerment of women farmers.
“AWFA-Namibia recently signed an [agreement] with Desh Bhagat University in Punjab, India, for a capacity building programme for Namibian women farmers in different areas of agriculture,” noted the statement.
The capacity-building programme will focus on smart agriculture, agricultural technology, climate change management, research, innovation, agro-processing and value chain industries.
