Williams too hot a Beauty

OKAHANDJA Beauties’ goal machine Stella Williams’s huge goal-scoring appetite has landed her an amazing 17 goals from only six matches in the Khomas Women’s Football League so far.

The feat has comfortably placed her team in the driving seat of the log in their last six matches. Beauties, current defending champions, are at the summit with 18 points, all courtesy of Williams. She has capitalised on poor goalkeeping from most of her opponents between the sticks since the resumption of the league a month ago.She has already scored three consecutive hat-tricks during the six matches and this in itself is a record in Namibian women’s football.Okahandja Beauties have a record 44 goals to their name already, and have no losses from their six matches, while they have only conceded one goal.Their fantastic run so far has been aided by the presence of at least nine players who turn out for the Brave Gladiators (the women’s national team) of which Williams has been a member since its inception.Williams has been a key figure in both her club side and at national level and her efficiency in front of goal makes her stand out as one of the most prolific strikers in Namibian women’s football to date.Namibia Defence Force (NDF) Cheetahs are holding on to second spot with 11 points, while Poly Babes are stationed in third spot with a similar number of goals.Ramblers are on ten points and their goal-getter, Stephanie Hummel, is second on the top goal-scorers list with 12, followed by Kleintjie Fredericks of Beauties, who has scored 8.Poly Babes’ leading striker, Emmie Johnson, also has eight goals to her name, while the rest of the players have fewer than five goals. The other two players who regularly hit the net for Beauties are Salome Iyambo and Rejoice Kasaona, while Queen Manga (4) also vies for goals for Ramblers. At the base of the table are the once favoured Unam Bokkies who have so far lost all seven matches, while they have conceded a shameful 36 goals to date.Beauties, current defending champions, are at the summit with 18 points, all courtesy of Williams. At the base of the table are the once favoured Unam Bokkies who have so far lost all seven matches, while they have conceded a shameful 36 goals to date.
