‘Whatagwan’ Hits a Million Views

unWrap.onlineVeteran singer Oteya is the latest Namibian star to join the million-views club on YouTube.

The artist made it recently with pop song ‘Whatagwan’, featuring Zambian multi-award-winning hip-hop musician, singer, songwriter and producer Macky2.

Released on YouTube in April 2017, ‘Whatagwan’ is a kasi love song in which Oteya expresses her love for Macky2 in an open field.

An ecstatic Oteya told unWrap.online she is over the moon and that this her biggest hit – not only in Namibia, but all over the world.

“Numbers don’t lie,” she says.

Celebrating 20 years in the music industry, Oteya says she has remained true to herself while entertaining the nation and beyond.

Speaking to unWrap.online recently, she said: “The first thought is, how time flew by so quickly. I still remember the day I first joined my first group, Dungeon Family. The memory is so clear to me as if it only happened yesterday.”

She says there are plans for a follow-up with Macky2, who had travelled to Namibia for the production of the song.

Oteya joins Young Blood, Rejoicing Choir, TopCheri, Tequila, Andrew Halupe and Gazza in the Namibian YouTube million-views club.
