Vehicle licence renewals now online

· SHAROLDINE BOCK

Vehicle owners in Namibia will no longer have to stand in long queues at Natis to renew their vehicle licences, as they can now do it online.

This was announced by the Roads Authority on Thursday.

“Covid-19 has accelerated growth in the digital and e-commerce sectors, with more of our clients preferring to shop and access essential services online,” the Roads Authority stated.

“The full renewal process, including payment, can be done by any Namibian-registered vehicle owner, from anywhere in the world, at any time, from the comfort of their own homes,” it added.

It further noted the aim of a new digital payment option was to reduce cash-handling risks.

The online service will also help motorists to avoid fines and any other penalties for late renewal.
