South African electronic and Afro-house powerhouse Mörda is bringing his acclaimed event, ‘Vault by Mörda’, to Namibia for the first time on Saturday, 6 June.
Hosted at the Windhoek Show Grounds, the 11-hour event aims to bridge the gap between a standard club night and a major international music festival, says event organiser Boma Rozay.
The move follows recent successful visits to Namibia by the artist, whose real name is Bongani Mohosana.
Organisers say the local crowd’s growing appetite for premium electronic music made Windhoek the logical next step for the expanding event brand.
Unlike standard music gigs where crowds only gather late at night, Vault is designed as a full-day experience. Gates will open at 11h00, with the music running until the 22h00 curfew. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to catch the full daytime atmosphere.
The music policy for the day spans a spectrum of heavy-hitting African dance genres, primarily focusing on Afro-house, Amapiano and electronic music, while Mörda takes the headline slot with a set promised to lean into deep, soulful Afro-tech rhythms.
The international billing features some of the biggest names on the southern African circuit, including DJ Zinhle, Kelvin Momo, Brenden Praise, TDeep and KG The Vibes.
The festival is also giving major real estate to Namibian talent. Popular local artists DJ Alba and Dreas have been selected to share the stage, a move the curation team says was essential to anchor the event in the local music community.
The Windhoek Show Grounds will be modified for the day, featuring immersive stage production, festival-grade lighting and designated lounge zones. Beyond the music, the organisers are incorporating elements of vintage car culture, fashion pop-ups and curated social spaces to give the venue a lifestyle festival atmosphere.
For safety and speed at the bars, the entire festival grounds will operate on a completely cashless basis. The event has partnered with Howler Namibia, meaning attendees will need to load digital funds onto their event wristbands to purchase food and drinks. Physical cash will not be accepted by vendors.
The site will feature multiple bars, a diverse food court and dedicated restroom infrastructure across both standard and VIP sectors to ensure crowd comfort.
