Uanguta take up reins at Namcor for six months

Bank of Namibia deputy governor Ebson Uanguta has been appointed as the interim managing director of the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor).

Uanguta will begin his six-month tenure on Thursday, the state-owned enterprise’s board announced in a statement on Wednesday.

Uanguta replaces Shiwana Ndeunyema, who was acting in the position since April last year.

This was after the substantive MD, Imms Mulunga was suspended amid allegations of an unauthorised payment of N$100 million for an oil block in Angola.

“We are confident that under Uanguta’s leadership, Namcor will achieve new heights of success and continue to play a vital role in the nation’s energy sector,” said the Namcor board statement said.
