The police in the Omusati region are investigating two separate deaths of minors in the Etayi constituency who allegedly took their own lives on Friday.
In the first incident, the body of a boy (9) was found at Oshoogolo village at around 18h00.
This was announced in the weekend crime report by national police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi on Sunday afternoon.
“it is alleged that Ndeutila Ikela, took his own life after his body was discovered in front of their home,” she says.
The police say next of kin have been informed and the body is being kept at the Etayi police mortuary pending transport to Okahao for a post-mortem examination.
No suicide note was found.
In a separate incident, the body of a girl (16) was found at Oshoogolo village on Friday at around 15h30.
“It is alleged that Niilonga Renate died after her body was discovered in her sleeping room,” Shikwambi says.
The police say the next of kin have been informed and the body will be transported to Okahao for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Police investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
