The Tsumeb municipality has implemented a 5% increase in tariffs for key municipal services, with effect from 1 July.
The increase applies to water supply, refuse collection, sewerage services and selected council services.
In a public notice issued by the municipality on Monday, the council says the adjustment was approved to ensure the continued provision and maintenance of quality municipal services.
“The revised tariffs will become effective on 1 July 2026. This adjustment is necessary to ensure the continued provision and maintenance of quality municipal services,” the notice reads.
Residents seeking detailed information on the revised tariffs have been advised to contact the municipality’s finance department.
The announcement comes as local authorities across the country continue to review tariffs to meet rising operational and infrastructure maintenance costs.
