IT was with the greatest of sorrow that my spouse, Mina Isaak and I learned here in Geneva, Switzerland, of the repose of our beloved brother, political and religious leader, Hendrik Witbooi, after long months of exhausting illness.
We give the Triune God thanks for his ministry and witness in all areas of life; he has been a courageous voice (preacher) for Christ and Christ’s Church in Namibia, including being the voice for the voiceless in the areas of politics and economics in Namibia, but also in the ecumenical Church and the whole inhabited world, and he has been a supportive and gracious friend to others in Christian leadership as well as a supportive and active comrade in socio-political contexts. I look back with joy to our paths where they have crossed.As we are making preparations for the funeral we once again thank God for Hendrik Witbooi. With the saints give him rest, O God.
