Tourism and trade set for boost as 10 new diplomatic heads vow closer cooperation

Various heads of missions designated to Namibia say they will strengthen cooperation with Namibia in areas such as cultural exchange, economic and trade.

This follows 10 heads of mission presenting their credential letters to president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah at State House on Monday.

They are: Florence Koske-Bore from Kenya, Philip Khwae from Botswana, Edwig Missando from Gabon, Philip Hewitt from New Zealand, Roland Beritze from Georgia, Aidan Fitzpatrick from Ireland, Karima Bbardaoui from Tunisia, Amedi Kamara from Mauritania, Hoang Cuong from Vietnam, and Dienabou Diallo from Guinea.

“The people of Namibia are looking forward to working with you and strengthening our cooperation and working together,” the president said.

Georgia ambassador Beritze said his country is looking to developing relations and opportunities in various spheres – not only in politics, but also economically and culturally.

“I shall be working at it tirelessly,” he said.

New Zealand high commissioner Hewitt said his country is excited to work the Namibia, particularly in tourism and strengthening the cooperation.

Vietnamese ambassador Cuong said despite the geographical distance between his country, the two countries share cultural and traditional diversities.

He said he hopes Namibia will assist him in contributing to the fisheries, tourism and industries sector.
