Standard Bank Namibia has appointed Helena Mboti as its new group economist.
In a media release issued on Friday, the bank said Mboti brings more than a decade of experience spanning both central banking and commercial banking.
According to the statement, Mboti previously worked at the Central Bank of Namibia.
“We look forward to her contribution to strengthening its economic intelligence and decision-making processes,” the statement reads.
She served as an economist in the research department.
She later served as an analyst in the financial stability department, with responsibilities covering monetary and financial statistics, macroprudential analysis, systemic risk assessment and financial stability monitoring.
The media release says she also held economist roles within the FirstRand Namibia Group across FNB/RMB, Ashburton and Pointbreak, where she supported group-wide macroeconomic analysis and policy interpretation.
According to the statement Mboti will be responsible for driving Standard Bank Namibia’s economic research agenda, delivering forward-looking macroeconomic analysis, risk assessments and economic insights to support strategic planning and stakeholder engagement.
