TopCheri launches kids talk show

Monica ‘TopCheri’ Pineas

AWARD-WINNING musician and entrepreneur Monica ‘TopCheri’ Pineas launched a new kids talk show during the kiddies concert and play day in Windhoek last Thursday.

She is the founder of the annual TopCheri kiddies concert and play day aimed at helping nurture young creative entrepreneurs and is sponsored by Sugar King.

She told unWrap.online that the show titled ‘TopCheri and the Kids’ will encourage young people to become entrepreneurs and showcase their talent in singing, dancing, acting and more.

“We will be sitting on the coolest couch in the land and getting to know the kids better by asking questions, playing games and also allowing them to showcase their talents and businesses,” she said.

Kids from different backgrounds showed up at the kiddies play day, with different personalities in the entertainment industry in attendance.

“Children are always on time. We had an opening performance by Ms Gideon and there was also a performance by Joy, the little songstress.

“The aim is to give kids a platform to express themselves in the best way possible,” she said.

TopCheri said the event was more than a concert, and encouraged parents to put away the gadgets and work to spend the day playing with their kids.

“Create memories with them. The first edition of the TopCheri Kiddies Concert was mostly pushed to success by the kids themselves, as they were really very happy and excited about it,” she said.

The event, which started last year, came about following the Covid-19 pandemic, TopCheri said, after she noticed that many children had become detached from the real world.

Last year, she said parents would soon be allowed to book stalls for children eager to provide a service or sell their goods.

Children who would like to perform will also be able to audition soon by uploading a short video of their talents on social media and tagging the official Kiddies Concert social media pages. – unWrap.online
