‘TEXTBOOK’ political analysts, especially black ones from the University of Namibia, are out to confuse the nation and have shown that they have no faith in their own leaders, the National Union of Namibian Workers (NUNW) claimed on Friday.

NUNW Secretary General Evilastus Kaaronda said political analysts claimed that former Swapo leader Sam Nujoma was reluctant to hand over power and that he intended to stay on for another five-year term. He said the analysts were “left to shame” when Nujoma handed over the party leadership to President Hifikepunye Pohamba at Swapo’s fourth congress more than a week ago.”It is a pity that even the so-called black political analysts do not have an iota of faith in their very own black leaders. What a waste of brains and talent,” Kaaronda said.He said the ‘Unam-based textbook-blinded political analysts’ told the nation that Nujoma was not to be trusted and the only time they would believe him was when they saw him leave office.”What a shame on them all.It is such a great pity that our very own academic people remain chained to colonialism that they declare their own leaders as liars until they are proven otherwise,” Kaaronda said.He called on Swapo members to discredit political analysts and to avoid listening to their “shallow opinions” in the future. The umbrella union body said the congress was not only peaceful but also served as a vehicle through which critics were proven wrong in that Swapo was much stronger and more united than many imagined and reported. The Swapo congress resolved that the NUNW would get one automatic seat on the party’s Central Committee – the same status as the party’s wings. Thus the NUNW has officially become part of the party machinery. It made some sources wonder how effective the unions would be in the future when labour conflicts arise.
