Standard Bank Namibia Holdings has announced Erwin Tjipuka as its new group chief executive from 1 October.
He will also be the chief executive of Standard Bank Namibia Limited, replacing Nelson Lucas, who has been acting in this position since the departure of Mercia Geises in May.
Before his appointment, Tjipuka was FNB Namibia’s chief executive, a position he has held since 2019.
Standard Bank Namibia appointed Elizabeth du Toit as its new chief financial officer last month.
Tjipuka is a Namibian chartered accountant and an experienced professional with a history of working in the financial services industry.
He is said to be skilled in financial management, external audit, corporate finance, management consulting and banking, and holds directorships in various Namibian companies.
“The appointment will be ratified by the shareholders at the next annual general meeting of the company,” reads the bank’s announcement.
