Think About The Future

Think About The Future

SHOULD the ruling party be given another mandate to rule this nation?
This is the question I have been thinking about for a while now that there are only seven months left before the elections.

Personally I strongly feel that the ruling party was given enough time and it is also time that the mandate be given to other parties. The ruling party did what it could do. We have all seen it! I think it is no longer proper to give all the powers to one political party. Experience has taught that once one has all the power, one tends to abuse it. This is what has been happening all these years. Think about the tenders: railways, Avid, ODC, GIPF, Stock and Stock, Presidential Commission reports, oh, the list is long. People are crying but government is turning a blind eye on their plea. I would therefore call upon the voters to exercise their votes carefully and not to give it to one party only. We the voters have a big responsibility in determining the future of this beautiful nation. Colonialism and apartheid are long gone. They will never come back. I want all Namibians to enjoy the fruits of independence. Veterans are crying but no one seems to be interested. Gone are days when only few families and family friends are being economically empowered. Brothers are turned against brothers, sisters against sisters, parents against their children, etc. Is this really what we want? I have been observing this ugly situation but it is not good. Let us all love one another. Politics is just a game, like a football game. In fact I want some politicians to lose their seat in parliament so that they can join the unemployed people. Maybe that way they will learn something. I am therefore calling on my fellow citizens to distribute their votes evenly. No more two-thirds majorities. Give a chance to people who have never had a chance to rule. Now, to all those who want change, the ball is in your court. If you want to continue crying and suffering again, it is your decision. You have this year to decide what is good for you. You have six months to decide whom you really want to rule this nation. Do not blame the government that you will put in power after the November elections because you had your time to change. Fellow citizens the time for change is now. Let us go and vote for change. Forget about holding of big rallies. Rallies do not solve problems. Think about where you live, the schools your children go to, the hospitals, the water you drink, the road you travel and what you eat. Think about the future of your children.
