National Planning Commission director general Obed Kandjoze says oil that has been discovered in Namibia does not belong to Namibians.
“We have had the debate about whether the oil is ours, the oil is not ours,“ says Kandjoze.
He said this during a discussion hosted by Nedbank Namibia on oil and gas.
According to Kandjoze, there is a topical debate about natural resources and who owns them.
“The private sector and investors need to really become partners in creating a dispensation that satisfies all,” he said.
“We in the policy space feel the heat in the chambers.”
