Thank you, Namibians, for keeping peace – Mbumba

President Nangolo Mbumba has thanked Namibians for maintaining the peace in the country following the death of two presidents.

Mbumba was referring to the late Hage Geingob who died last year and founding president Sam Nujoma who died last month.

“I want to thank the Namibian people for keeping the peace during these tough times,” he says.

Mbumba says it was not easy to keep the peace and commends the nation for remaning calm.

He urges the nation to continue maintaining peace and show the same support to the incoming president.

Otjozondjupa governor James Uerikua describes Mbumba as a leader who led the nation with calmness, passion and endurance during difficult times.

He says Mbumba held the torch of peace high, underpinning what true leadership is all about.

He bid farewell to Mbumba and wishes him well as he takes his deserved rest.

Uerikua calls on leaders and the nation to emulate Mbumba’s leadership abilities and make Namibia a great nation.
