For those of you who have been on social media this week, you may have noticed photos of a man named Irvin Randle. It’s not his name that caused a huge stir, but his impeccable sense of style and toned body.
Trust me, I’m not even exaggerating.
Have you seen those pictures? That tate has impeccable sense of style and a toned body for days! Did I mention that he’s 54 years old? I know, right?
Eish. But that’s just him with his beard.
Either way, it’s not surprising at all that women around the world went on about him, saved his picture on their phones and simply fell for him. Or admired him, let me not even go so deep.
And guess what?
He was already given a nickname by the internet. ‘Mr Steal Your Grandma’. Cool, right?
The thing is, men are not too happy about Irvin coming into the picture. Why? Because men can get pretty territorial over women and honestly, it’s so interesting to watch.
“Ja, you know you’ll dump him when he shaves his beard. He’s not even that special.” Etcetera, etcetera.
Some men even claimed that he was gay (possibly to deter women). Not like that will stop them.
Can someone please queue AKA’s ‘Jealousy’?
Oh, admit it, men. There’s a teeny part of you that wants to look like that in a couple of years. But if you thought this was crazy, remember the time Trey Songz came to Namibia?
My gosh, women went absolutely insane over him.
“Oh, Papi Trey!” they said. “I’d do anything for him!” they said. And indeed, around that time, several sexy pictures posted on the internet were dedicated to Trey while men were forced to watch, completely unimpressed. Shem.
The thing is, there’s always going to be another man in a woman’s life who she really admires. Be it a local celeb like Desmond or the guy at the gym who always shows up at 06h00, a part of her just really likes this person and there’s not much you can do about it.
Yes, sometimes she goes a bit far by saying stuff like “I’d have his babies” while you, the boyfriend, are pushed to the side whenever this person comes into the picture, but really, it’s nada.
You don’t have to be concerned about it too much, because at the end of the day, she really loves you. When she needs someone to talk to and cuddle with late at night, it’s you she’s going to call.
Even if she needs someone to fix the television after she accidentally pressed something on the remote, you’d be the one she’ll think of first.
She knows where her priorities lie and you are pretty much in the top three.
So yeah, be territorial over the love of your life – she’ll appreciate that a lot. She’ll feel that someone is there for her and would be willing to do anything for her if she ever needed help.
I guess you should really be worried when she keeps a folder of her crushes in her computer, or his picture is saved as her wallpaper on her phone… Or if she can’t stop talking about him and even compares him to you, then there’s a problem.
But a woman who’s truly down for you would not look down on you because you’re a unique part of her life. She would not do anything to jeopardise the relationship. After all, she loves you. I bet the little things she does in your life every day prove just that.
Just remember, crushes are temporary and love is forever.
