Swapo Party urged to produce goods on sewerage

DEPUTY Prime Minister Hendrik Witbooi took the plight of his community at Gibeon to central government for “the last time” in the National Assembly yesterday.

His request: we need a sewerage system. “I have always tried to be peaceful, but today I want to tell this House and the Minister that I am not satisfied,” said Witbooi, referring to his repeated requests for a sewerage system at Gibeon.Speaking during the final round of discussions on the budget allocation to the Ministry of Local and Regional Government and Housing, Witbooi said he did not want the Hansard to reflect that he was angry and unhappy about the lack of progress at Gibeon. But “I’m on my way out”, and was still not assured that something would be done about improving sanitation at the southern village.”Now I am about to leave, I have spent 40 years representing Swapo. We are going to vote on the 14th of May, and I still want people to vote for Swapo,” he pleaded. He asked the Assembly to ensure that the Minister prioritised having a sewerage system installed at Gibeon.”I have always tried to be peaceful, but today I want to tell this House and the Minister that I am not satisfied,” said Witbooi, referring to his repeated requests for a sewerage system at Gibeon.Speaking during the final round of discussions on the budget allocation to the Ministry of Local and Regional Government and Housing, Witbooi said he did not want the Hansard to reflect that he was angry and unhappy about the lack of progress at Gibeon. But “I’m on my way out”, and was still not assured that something would be done about improving sanitation at the southern village.”Now I am about to leave, I have spent 40 years representing Swapo. We are going to vote on the 14th of May, and I still want people to vote for Swapo,” he pleaded. He asked the Assembly to ensure that the Minister prioritised having a sewerage system installed at Gibeon.
