As the country’s evolving political landscape presents both challenges and opportunities, Swapo leaders have been told to adopt strategic thinking and tactical approaches.
Swapo secretary general Sophia Shaningwa made the remarks this week at the opening of the Rundu-Urban district leadership training in the Kavango East region.
“The current environment is characterised by heightened political competition and complex socioeconomic realities. I urge party leaders at all levels to move beyond routine administration,” she said.
Shaningwa urged leaders to develop the capacity to anticipate, analyse, adapt and act decisively in defence of Swapo’s revolutionary ideals and progressive programme
According to Shaningwa, successfully steering the party under the prevailing conditions will depend on leadership that is strategic, responsive and forward-looking.
