ONE of the world’s biggest competition series has just arrived in South Africa as 12 untrained celebrities go head to head in the first season of M-Net’s big new reality show, ‘Dancing With The Stars South Africa’.
They include popular actor and model Eden Classens, comedian Ebenhaezer Dibakwane and South African netball player Vanes-Mari du Toit.
They join nine other famous faces on the dance floor of this exciting new series.
Eden, a model and popular actor, plays the role of Justin in the hit Afrikaans soap ‘Suidooster’ on KykNET.
Funny man Dibakwane is a South African comedian and actor who rose to fame after winning the Newcomer Award at the Savanna Comic’s Choice Awards in 2016.
Among Dibakwane’s highlights are opening for Dillan Oliphant, being part of the ‘Stand Up 4 Comedy’ ensemble, and being billed in the line-up for ‘Blacks Only’ and ‘Comedy Central International Comedy Festival alongside Trevor Noah and other SA household names.
Exchanging the rough and tumble of the netball court for all the glitz and glamour is netball star Vanes-Mari du Toit, a player on the South African national netball team who has an impressive 38 caps for South Africa under her belt, playing in positions such as goal shooter, goal keeper and goal attack.
The other nine are:
Actress and performer Juanita du Plessis; former Miss South Africa Liesl Laurie; Wayde van Niekerk’s mother Odessa Swarts; film and TV starlet Zola Nombona; veteran South African actor Frank Opperman; Mzanzi’s best TV presenter, former ‘Our Perfect Wedding’ host, actress and DJ Thembisa Mdoda; former Bafana Bafana star Delron Buckley; singer-songwriter Connell Cruise; and former Springbok Thando Manana.
‘Dancing With The Stars SA’ can be seen on M-Net channel 102 on Sundays.
