Standard Bank appoints Namaseb to executive leadership team

Standard Bank Namibia has appointed Jerome Namaseb as executive officer for personal and private banking, effective 3 August.

The bank announced the appointment in a statement issued on Monday.

Namaseb will join the bank’s executive leadership team and is expected to lead the personal and private banking business.

Standard Bank chief executive Erwin Tjipuka says Namaseb’s experience will strengthen the bank’s ability to grow its customer offering.

“We are delighted to welcome Jerome to Standard Bank Namibia. He brings a wealth of experience, strategic insight and a proven ability to deliver commercial growth while building high-performing teams,” Tjipuka says.

He says Namaseb’s track record in leading transformational initiatives and delivering customer and business outcomes positioned him to lead the division into its next phase of growth.

Namaseb previously served as chief executive of the Daures Green Hydrogen Village, where he led the development of one of Namibia’s pioneering sustainable infrastructure initiatives.

He held senior positions in the financial services sector, where he was involved in business growth, product innovation, customer value propositions and strategic market expansion.

Namaseb holds a bachelor of science honours degree in actuarial science and mathematics from the University of Manchester, and a bachelor of economics honours degree from the Namibia University of Science and Technology.

Namaseb says he looks forward to strengthening the bank’s relationship with customers.

“I look forward to working with our talented teams to deepen customer relationships, enhance our value proposition and deliver innovative solutions that help our clients achieve their ambitions,” he says.

He says the bank would continue working towards inclusive growth and creating meaningful impact for communities across Namibia.
