Standard Bank Namibia yesterday launched its revamped mobile banking app.
Karen van der Merwe, the head of personal and private banking, said the app aims to ease clients’ banking experience.
The revamped app addresses three key objectives: convenience, innovation and security, she said.
The app provides new features such as checking one’s account balance and transaction history, as well as making quick transfers, like sending money to family and friends.
The state-of-the art encryption and authentication protocols have multiple layers of protection to ensure clients’ data remains secure, Van der Merwe said.
She said the bank is committed to staying at the forefront of technological innovation in the banking industry, and its new app embraces the latest innovations, such as biometric authentication and facial recognition.
Burger Smit, the head of digital and e-Commerce personal and private banking, also highlighted some of the features, such as beneficiary payments, transfers, blue vouchers, prepaid transactions, as well as in-app notifications.
“Something that stands out is our in-app messaging capability, where customers and the bank can securely engage one another on the topics that are available on the app and get real-time feedback” he said.
“In conclusion, the launch of our new banking app signifies a huge milestone. We firmly believe this app will revolutionise the way you bank and positively impact your financial well-being,” Van der Merwe said.
