 * I FELT good and proud to watch the presidential address, to see our leaders united and sharing a joke. It gave me hope for a better nation.

 * CONGRATULATIONS to the Cancer Apple Project for selling 558 000 apples. I however feel that besides schools the project could be extended to companies and ministries.

Food For Thought
* CONGRATULATIONS to the Cancer Apple Project for selling 558 000 apples. I however feel that besides schools the project could be extended to companies and ministries. The entity that sold the most apples can be awarded with a trophy for caring. A colleague asked me if the apples are ordinary apples when my son brought my apple from school. That made me realise that some people do not understand and as parents, they will not give money to children for the apples. It will all be a bonus to CAN.
n THE recent incident at Pool Bar refers. When robbers and criminals devastate the lives of their victims, sections of our society are eerily silent, but become vocal when thugs pull the short end. They even quote from the Constitution to convince us how precious life is. Criminals know the risks that come with their chosen profession, so don’t complain when they’re shot at and killed.

Politics
* MY question to the Finance Minister is whether all the presidents who are retiring or the ones who step down will get multi-million dollar offices. This is totally absurd and unacceptable. – AA
* I NOTED the remarks made by the Finance Minister in defence of the Founding Father’s office block. For how long would we the taxpayers be indebted to Founding Father after all we have already done. I hope the tender will be awarded to a Namibian company. – Anti China
* MADAM Finance Minister. Stop duping Namibians into believing that Air Namibia generates billions in revenue for the country! Whether it is Air Namibia or any other airline that would still be the case regardless. Only difference we wouldn’t have to waste taxpayers’ money on a bankrupt airline and rather use it on schools and hospitals.
* WILL President (Hifikepunye) Pohamba please practicalise his State of the Nation speech to Parliament in respect of tolerance by lifting the shameful ban on The Namibian newspaper immediately if he honestly believes in every word he uttered and wants us to take him seriously? Action, not mere empty political words, Your Excellency Sir!

Bouquets And Brickbats
* THANKS Katutura Hospital nurses and doctors, mainly those who work at casualty and outpatient departments, for your hard work under such huge pressure. I have seen it, taking care of hundreds cases of emergencies at the same time while you’re very few on duty. We appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts. May God bless you all. – Mpingana
* I WOULD like to salute Natangwe Angula, a student at Grootfontein Secondary School for his heroic efforts. It was not long ago when he lost his memory and I must say most of us thought that he’ll never be able to go back to school, but he did. He should be a role model to other kids. – A teacher
* I READ (Alexactus) Kaure’s article on Friday and disagreed with him for underestimating the NDF. Please read history to teach you, before you sell this nation, be loyal!
* THE Ministry of Home Affairs is often referred to as a ministry with rude employees. I however beg to differ as I was assisted kindly and politely by a certain Mr Ernest and his team. Keep up the good work guys.
* GWEN Lister has been doing a commendable job in promoting youth football with the NFA even during these crunch times. Keep it up, you are a real Namibian and your paper rocks.

Election Fever
* WAR Vets not voting? Who cares? This nonsense of war vets and struggle kids must stop immediately. We the taxpayers of Namibia owe you zilch. Swapo must use their own resources to address their own problems and keep their hands off our tax money. – Non-Exile War Veteran

Time To Talk
* LET us have a referendum where Namibians can vote for or against the changing of time in winter.

Running The Show
* WHY are the ministers all of a sudden against the way in which the ACC operates? Something is fishy. One of the fat cats is maybe being investigated. The ACC never says that the people are guilty but simply says that there is a case of corruption against the suspect. Just wondering. – Pello
* MEMBERS of the National Council are concerned about people evicted from their houses because of outstanding payments while some of them are still in the employment of the Government and at the same time are members of the GIPF. Why can’t Parliamentarians amend the law of the GIPF Act so that affected people can borrow from their pension fund to pay for the arrears, until such a time that the pension fund makes appropriate arrangements to recover the amount borrowed?

General
* NAMIBIA, stop depending on handouts. The population is only 1,8 million with much wealth and unemployment. Stop begging and create jobs, not China towns in all corners of Namibia. Create our own factories such as frozen veggies and tinned fruits from Etunda then sell to SA. Beat unemployment. – Proud Team Namibia
* CONDOMS all over? Preaching the gospel does not mean that all will go to heaven. Same with condoms and HIV. More young girls will be pregnant and some more will be infected. The Government tried once to control drunkenness by regulating shebeens. It was nearly overthrown. What rules on earth is ignorance, carelessness and above all anarchy!
* WHO’S to be blamed? The whole of Namibia is dirty along our national roads. We see bottles and plastic lying around. Townships look like dumpsites. We must stop blaming and clean up our mess in our houses, townships and yards or must we ask others to do this for us too?
* HOW long must commercial banks take to reduce their lending rates after the central bank reduces its repo rate?
* THE National Library should be as such. I am studying part time but find it difficult to do research after work as the library closes at 17h00 and doesn’t open on weekends. For the sake of a skilled and knowledge-based people, as is the cry in this country, something should be done to accommodate the working class. – Bookworm
* FORMER GTV subscribers want to know what happen to the money we paid in advance before the closure. Not Gateway Broadcasting but ‘Getaway Broadcasting’.
* AIR Namibia should stop giving buddy tickets.
* WOMEN be careful: you don’t know what you have until it’s gone. Love your husband – the grass is not greener on the other side please. – Tate Nd N Joas, Omundaungilo

Please Help!
* CAN somebody help me, where I can study sign language (Deaf) in Windhoek? My number is 081-379-8043.
* KATUTURA Magistrate’s Court. The cash hall opens at 08h00 and you come early because you still have to go back to work. Then there is only one person handling payments and deposits. It is frustrating. Can someone please help.

Education
* WHY is the Government always busy with science departments n the northern region? What about commerce departments? The new Unam at Ongwediva only has science, Oshakati Unam only science.
* I AM a concerned Khoekhoegowab and dissatisfied with the fact that Namcol doesn’t offer KKG for both Gr 10 and Gr 12. What will the learners do if they want to better their symbols and the public at large that intends to study the language. There are qualified teachers that can offer the language. Waiting promptly on a reply. – Kuti #|Hoxobeb
* WHY can’t teachers who are teaching combined classes be paid half of the other class? Can we talk of quality education if all school teach the same thematic schemes?
* I SHARE the same concern with the writer on the Polytech denying public access to its library. If they claim that one of their core functions is community engagement, where is the credibility in this? Even a formal student cannot enter that library. The Poly should remember that its major source of annual budget is public funds. Do away with a dictatorship type of leadership and running public properties as if they are private possessions.

Old Soldiers
* PLEASE, we want to register as old veterans. We didn’t get a chance. Tate (President Hifikepunye) please respond.

Children Of The Struggle
* THE struggle has been over almost 20 years! What have you done to get a job? Stop blaming and demanding and start doing something! Namibia is fed up with lazy and incapable people. You will be replaced by the Chinese who want to work and never strike!
* STRUGGLE kids, who are Swapo kids, are getting jobs and educational opportunities. What about us who were born here in Namibia? Our parents died, no family, no future, no hope, no money to study, no job. The war led us to suffer, losing our cattle and our family. We were born here.

Labour Issues
* CAN the Minister of Defence tell us straight what are their basic requirements for their intake. How is possible to recruit people with Grade 5? Or we must be relatives of people who are from exile. Our parents were also fighting inside this country.
* I CONSTANTLY hear job adverts by farmers over certain NBC radio stations specifying the tribe of the people needed. Is this not against the law?
* GENERAL Martin Shalli, what has happened to the proposal of all the drivers becoming sergeants? Privates are driving senior officers. That’s unprofessional sir!

Service Please
* PLEASE show the agent of MultiChoice at Gobabis how to handle your precious clients.
* MTC should apologise or inform us when the network is down. It affected me since last night to this morning. Right now – two phones!? That’s stress on business and marriage!

In And From the Regions
* KEETMANSHOOP Town Council appoint the senior technician on qualifications nothing else.
