* POLITICS in Namibia is simply a game of party politics and not at all an approach towards integration of ideas to develop the country as it was meant to be in a democratic society. A democratic policy of governance is one that is open to new ideas and positively aimed critics. It is about one nation and development in focus.
* POLITICS in Namibia is simply a game of party politics and not at all an approach towards integration of ideas to develop the country as it was meant to be in a democratic society. A democratic policy of governance is one that is open to new ideas and positively aimed critics. It is about one nation and development in focus. Enemies in such a nation are poverty, disease, catastrophes, unemployment, corruption and the rest of a sort, not other citizens! Why is our nation divided in hatred groups? What can we achieve though division? I’m not interested to know who is dividing the nation, but rather to know those who are uniting and building it! Are you one of them? Let’s all join hands Namibian and do best we can for our beloved land.
Food For Thought
* WHAT society do we have that rejoices about loss of life? I am referring to the robbers that were killed in what is termed as a job well done for the Police and even the Minister is praising them for killing and injuring with little possibility of survival. They were supposed to be injured and stand trial and not killed as it is now. The two families have lost sons, brothers, fathers, cousins, etc but the insensitivity of comments being made is sickening. I don’t condone crime of whatever nature nor am I related to any of the six robbers but, I just want to appeal to the nation to be sensitive because the remarks being made can stab the heart of a mother mourning her dead son. Think again. – Aina
Bouquets and Brickbats
* HON Moses //Garoëb, may your soul rest in eternal peace now that you have got a home. Well done Mrs Monica //Garoëb. – EKN
* THIS goes out to the Highway Patrol Officer on the Otjiwarongo-Okahandja road: I believe his name was Michael. A big thank you to you sir, for the assistance you gave us on Monday morning and may the Lord bless you more in your work.
* JUST Fabulous contestants are gaining instead of losing weight. Seems like they just entered to enjoy the luxuries. I think the sponsors could put the money to better use like helping flood victims and improving our poor education. Namibia let’s be serious.
* FOR the past weeks on NBC TV we are watching different programmes from those that appear on your schedule or is it always a printing error. – Burruchaga
* JOB well done to Commissioner Festus Shilongo with the arrest of the brutal killers near Omaruru on the farm Parry. No bail for the suspects until sentenced for public safety and protection. – Rooinasie (Rehoboth)
* THE Lüderitz Crayfish Festival was one big disaster. The organisers did not cater for the people, but rather for the minister and mayors from other towns. If you want to boost the economy of Lüderitz during the festival, keep the politics out and provide more crayfish. It was like a big bazaar! Never to visit again! – CJ
* A JOB well done to the CEO of Katima Town Council, our town is changing for the better daily, although you are underpaid. (Shame to the promoter of corruption. And down with tribalism.)
* CONGRATULATIONS to the SPYL for handing over awards at The Namibian Cup. It shows our togetherness in reading the paper with the GRN.
* [ELIJAH] Ngurare and [Clinton] Swartbooi look marvellous when wearing The Namibian soccer T-shirts in our banned favourite newspaper. – Barie
Election Fever
* TO the Electoral Commission (of Namibia), please remove procedures such as bringing two people with voting cards when registering! It’s a waste of time and we don’t have taxi money to pay for two people! I am a born-free and I want to vote! Can’t you just do it the way we do our identity cards. Please take this seriously! – Born-free
* PLEASE advise me! Is the presidential voting registration over already? I am staying at Maroela, Katutura and don’t see the registration stands anymore. Or are they coming back? I really need to register. – We hear a nationwide voters’ registration campaign will take place later this year. Watch the media for details. – Newsdesk
Politics
* [TRADE Minister] Hage [Geingob] tell the taxpayers the truth about the N$264000 for a trip to Cuba.
* I REGARD Hage Geingob as honourable and he will surely clarify the Cuba trip. Surely our tax wasn’t used or was it? Minister we eagerly await your response.
* THE wasting of taxpayers’ money will continue despite the world’s worst economic recession. When will these so-called leaders show that they care for our people?
* ACCORDING to President [Hifikepunye] Pohamba the last year was a resounding success on all, all, fronts for Government. Couldn’t he at least have admitted to some of the failures that us ordinary Namibians notice?
Running The Show
* STATE of the Nation. President [Hifikepunye] Pohamba has not given answers, especially to the question by Mr Mudge about the Commission of Inquiry to be made public. The same question was asked by [Mr Ben] Ulenga but he failed the nation. Today it’s the same thing. As a nation the public needs straight answers. – Bix Namibia
* MINISTRY of Health, how long do newly registered nurses have to wait before the PS signs their appointment letters? Because some still haven’t started working and their papers have been there for months.
* FINANCE Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila’s Budget is a campaign one. Defence, Air Namibia and Founding President allocations have become luxuries. The poor will remember the Minister for that.
* FINANCE Minister Kuugongelwa-Amadhila’s Budget: Let [President Sam] Nujoma take his long-deserved rest on his farm and use the N$42 million to improve the living conditions of the poor. Then you make thousands of poor people happy and not only one man.
* VOLUNTEERISM means you work with your own resources, work from home, or rally for resources privately. The former President cannot be an additional burden on the taxpayer to do volunteer work. Why not donate the money set aside for his office to charity?
* THE City Traffic said on NBC TV if you go to enquire if you have an outstanding warrant of arrest, they won’t lock you up. I went myself and they locked us up with all those who went to their offices from 11h00 to 15h00. Then we paid bail. Let them rather look for you because the process is the same.
Time To Talk
* THE law on winter time change is not administered by the Office of Prime Minister!
* PLEASE our lawmakers, reconsider the winter time change. Schools will close soon for holidays. Honestly we are all negatively affected during this period, including you lawmakers. When are we in Africa and when not?
General
* DID you know? Many people who have made their mark in the world of ideas, who have been acknowledged leaders and innovators, have had very little if any formal education. Let us ask ourselves, what have most of us achieved with our formal qualifications apart from securing a job?
* PLEASE allow me a space in your esteemed newspaper to correct a mistake made by so many who are using the Nama clicks in writing, to ensure correct writing and handing down to future generations. The click used in the word #guro which means first is not a hash sign as used by so many in writing, but that click can be found either in the character map under system tools in accessories or by pressing alt and 0135 on the keyboard. I hope that this will be helpful at least for formal and official purposes. – Thank you. – News Editor
In And From the Regions
* OMARURU Police, please handcuff the suspects they are dangerous. What about if they grab your firearms?
* THIS serves as a reminder to our Government officials in the Ministries of Education and of Environment and Tourism respectively in Rundu. The ongoing transportation of kids and spouses to and from school by means of Government vehicles is no recommendation. The same applies for the use of those vehicles for farming purposes and church activities.

* ALL wild animals are protected by nature conservation, for example, kudus, gemsbok, etc. What about fish? They are killed in the North like nothing, even smaller ones, and no one cares about them.
Sporting
n WHY does NBC just show the last 16 and last 8 of Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool in the Champions League Cup? What about Arsenal? – Concerned AFC fan
Service Please
* AIR Namibia is a complete joke. On Tuesday they saw fit to wait for three hours after scheduled take off to Walvis Bay, Lüderitz, Oranjemund and Cape Town to tell us passengers that sorry no pilots. Apology was apparently not called for. A very sorry state of affairs.
* USAKOS Shell, please stop selling old bread. It is the fourth time that I bought old bread at you shop. We pay N$8,70 for a white bread, then when you get home you see the bread is old.
* ONE Africa, our favourite TV station, what is happening down there. For the past two days till now we have been watching but the sound is very bad in Ondangwa. Please help.
* THE Oluno MTC branch staff are very slow in helping clients. Improvement is urgently needed there. – Frustrated customers.
Education
* MINISTRY of Education, are the Unam and Polytechnic libraries for public use too? I always have a problem at the Polytechnic library or the external studies room as they do not want to allow you inside. We pay taxes. Please clarify.
