Namibian centre-back Sisqo Haraseb has found a new club after signing for Zimbabwe Premier League side Hard Rock FC following his return from a loan spell with Iraqi Stars League outfit Al-Qassim FC.

The 25-year-old has travelled to Zimbabwe and put pen to paper with the Kwekwe-based side, becoming the first Namibian international to play for the club.

“I am in Zimbabwe now with Hardrock Football Club. I came here a few weeks ago,” he says.

Hard Rock FC are a newly promoted side in the Castle Lager Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League after winning the 2025 Zifa Central Region Division championship to secure promotion to the top flight.

Popularly known as the “Kasongo Boys”, they have taken the league by storm this season. The club climbed to the top of the table from Matchweek 13 to Matchweek 15 and currently sit third with 32 points, one point behind second-placed Caps United on 33 points and five points behind leaders Scottland FC on 37 points.

Haraseb returned from a difficult loan spell in Iraq, where Al-Qassim FC experienced financial difficulties that ultimately led to relegation and multiple complaints being lodged against the club with Fifa by players.

Nicknamed the ‘Great Wall of Kalkfeld’, Haraseb rose to prominence during the 2024/2025 Namibia Premier League season with Mighty Gunners FC, where he established himself as one of the league’s most reliable centre-backs.

His impressive domestic form earned him a national team call-up in March 2025 from Brave Warriors head coach Collin Benjamin, paving the way for his international breakthrough.

Following his Cosafa Cup debut with a strong showing, Haraseb attracted interest from several local and international clubs before eventually signing for Mochudi Centre Chiefs FC in Botswana.

He spent half a season with the Botswana side before being loaned out to Al-Qassim FC, where he was tasked with helping the team avoid relegation. However, the club had a disastrous campaign, finishing the 38-game season without a single win, losing 33 matches and drawing five to finish with just five points.

Despite a difficult campaign for the club, Haraseb enjoyed a successful loan spell individually, featuring in every match before eventually parting ways with Mochudi Centre Chiefs.

“I left Mochudi, I joined Hardrock but will only officially join when the transfer window opens.”

“For now, I’m based here (Zimbabwe) and I have been training with the team as I wait for the transfer window to open so that I can be registered.”

His departure from Mochudi Centre Chiefs was also far from smooth, as the player engaged a lawyer after alleging a breach of contract by the club. The matter has since been taken with Fifa, with the club now reportedly owing the player outstanding payments. The case is ongoing.

Before his move to Iraq, Haraseb was a key figure at Mochudi Centre Chiefs and was the only player to have started every league match for the club. During the first-leg break, he travelled home to Namibia, with his contract reportedly stating that the club would cover both his travel home and return ticket back to Botswana.

However, the club allegedly failed to fulfil that obligation, forcing the player to pay for his own return travel, which ultimately resulted in him rejoining the team late.

The situation strained the relationship between Haraseb and the club’s management and eventually contributed to his loan move to Al-Qassim FC.

Now back from Iraq, both parties have officially parted ways, with Fifa currently involved in resolving the contractual dispute.

“My lawyer is handling the situation with Mochudi Centre Chiefs, as the team now owes me after breaching the contract,” he says.

The player says he is grateful for this new chapter in his career after a difficult first year abroad and is thankful for the lessons and experience he gained throughout the journey.
