Sintana plans to list on Namibia Securities Exchange

Sintana Energy has announced it intends to trade on the Namibia Securities Exchange (NSX).

The company announced on Tuesday that it had engaged with IJG Securities and the NSX with a view of trading in Namibia.

This comes less than two months after the Canadian company was listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Knowledge Katti, a Namibian businessman and director of Sintana, says the listing aligns with his vision to have Namibians participate in the country’s wealth.

“This is a chance for young Namibians to diversify their futures, to build generational wealth, and to hold a direct stake in the energy story that will define our nation,” Katti says in the company’s press release.

Sintana chief executive Robert Bose says the company hopes to be the first to offer Namibians a chance to invest directly in offshore oil developments.

Sintana Energy entered Namibian offshore oil exploration in 2022, when it bought a 49% stake of Kattis’ Custos Energy.

The company has stakes in six offshore petroleum exploration licences.
